float value is changed

Dear all,

I have a field defined as float (16,0).  When I insert 9999999999 (10 9s) into the 
table, it changed it's value to 10000000000(1 and 10  0s).  It also change some other 
inserted values.

Does anybody have any idea what the reason causing it?  And how can I fix that?
