Finding relevance in results

Hi. I am working on a project using Perl and the DBI (which is irrelevant to the question) and I would like to get a percenteage of how relevant the results are to the query I've made. I have tried the Fulltext and match() methods, but they only give back a number from 1.6 to 3.8 (so far). So, the
