I recently downloaded MySQL v3.23 on my Windows 2000 laptop. When I try to create a database at the mysql> prompt, I get the message "Error 1044: Access denied for user '@localhost' to database xxxxxx." I originally assigned a username and password when I first ran the WinMySQL admin 1.4 tool. I tried changing this as well, but still no luck. Please help.
