There is no reason why you cannot use diffeent package managers for your system. The only thing is do not run two managers at the same time, as they require exclusive access to the rpm database.
Trying to use more than one package manager, or multiple instances of the same one is not a good idea, may not be possible due to locks on the rpm database, or could end up corrupting the rpm database.
