If you do not specify another location, then you should find it as
/tmp/mysql.sock. This file only exists, if the mysql-daemon is running.

        Asunto: Where is file mysql.sock?

        Hi all.

I want to know where is file mysql.sock. I ask it because I change
the
my.cnf configuration file placed in /etc directory with one of the
example
configuration files from directory support-files from MySql source.
I has an
option for variable socket and it puts socket=/tmp/mysql.sock, but I
don't
find this files and nows the mysqld crashes.

        Thanks in advance.

        Iago.
