Im currently setting up a LAMP server which will be accessed by (a lot of) students for various courses.
To handle user accounts I use PAM to authenticate ftp-logins against an LDAP server. Additionally, I'm looking for a way to authenticate MySQL users against PAM (or LDAP directly) too, so I would not be forced to manage passwords in 'mysql.user' seperatly. Is there anybody aware of a patch to MySQL to do this?
