Hi,

I have a problem with the bin-log files growing too rapidly. They seem to
be growing at a rate of
about 1 gig every two hours even though the server is not busy. I have
been running this server
for about a year with replication and have had very little problems. This
log problem started about
2 days ago. The slave stopped. When I run mysqlbinlog on any of the log
files I just see garbage.
When I try to dissable logging with (set sql_log_bin = 0) it doesn't work.
I have tried restarting the
server several times as well as flushing the logs. I have not changed any
configuration.

I am at a lose. Has anyone seen this problem?

I am running MySQL server 3.23.37 with Mandrake Linux 8.0 on a Compaq
Proliant box.

Rick
