I have a Win2k machine and want to know if it is practical for development
purposes to run MySQL in a VMWare linux window. Has anyone tried it? Are
there any caveats? TIA

why not run cygwin? I run postgres on my win2k box through cygwin. It
would be less resource intensive.

Or even better, run the native Windows port. It's quite a good one.

I've done the opposite. I've run MySQL in Win98 via VMWare on Linux.
