Well, what are the permissions on safe_mysqld? And if this is a Linux
box, where is this Irix/SGI stuff coming from in the error message?

I am using RedHat 6.0 Kernel 2.2.20 on i686 and
installed mysql 3.23.47-sgi-irix6.5. I m running sh
./bin/safe_mysqld from the root directory and am
getting the error : cannot execute binary file.
