I am using mysql client 5.0.27. When the Mysql server is stopped (signal 19) the client calls do not timeout.
I am setting the timeout values using MysqlPP setoptions method, to set the op_read_timeout value. I've looked through the bug database and found that this problem was reported previously for client releases prior to 5.0.25. ie bugs 9678, 4143, 11774. I assume that the version I'm using shouldnt have this timeout problem. I'm running on RedHat Linux 2.6.9-5. Is there any other reason why this timeout problem could be seen. >From one of the emails on the mailing lists I see that SO_SENDTIMO and SO_RCVTIMO are supported in Linux since 2.3.41 so I shouldn't have a problem. Any suggestions?
