Could you post the contents of you my.cnf (or my.ini) file? What OS are you trying to
run the server on?

OK this may be weird. I still have got no further than my last post, but
when I start the service it starts it then it appears to stop it 10 seconds
later I see this in the MySQLAdmin screen> I am totally lost on this.
