Incidentally a friend of mine met Ted Leung of Sun (local geek celebrity and author of a few books) at the UW Python mini-conference last Saturday. Sun seems very keen on supporting dynamic languages (Python, Ruby, etc) now; they hired Ted to head up that effort.
