Hello everyone, I am new to using MySQL and have installed a copy on my laptop which is running Windows 2000. I am having an issue with setting up the root user account. When I ran MySQL for the first time I was prompted to give a generic user id and password. I did that, but when I run this SQL statement SELECT USER(); I get [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Can anyone tell me why? I have followed the documentation correctly, but I still can not create additional accounts. I am using version 3.23 incase anyone was wondering.
