Dear Readers, Over the last week there have been a series of messages posted to this list that were off-topic, inflammatory and often offensive.
Our list manager contacted the offending parties and requested that they stop their abuse of the mailing list. When this failed to stop the postings, the administrator unsubscribed the offending user from all MySQL mailing lists and revoked their posting privileges. It is unfortunate that these actions were required. The MySQL mailing lists are a shared resource for the global MySQL community. While we are fortunate to have members from many or all of the wired countries in the world, it means that it is almost inevitable that there will occasionally be fundamental differences of belief between list members. We ask people to avoid these conflicts and instead focus on the co-operative and community aspects of the list. To help maintain the MySQL lists as a friendly, helpful and useful resource, we must request that people *do not respond to off-topic posts*. If you do feel compelled to respond, please do so off of the mailing list. If you find a post to be offensive, please notify our list administrators at [EMAIL PROTECTED] - we will deal with the situation as best we can. If you wish to discuss this situation further, please mail me *off-list* at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yours Truly, Zak Greant MySQL Community Advocate --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before posting, please check: http://www.mysql.com/manual.php (the manual) http://lists.mysql.com/ (the list archive) To request this thread, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Trouble unsubscribing?
