mysqlhotcopy is a perl script that came with your disto of mysql. If you have mysql installed on another machine then you probably already have it (I've never installed it without it being there). -Chris

It seems to leave me a bunch of files in a folder I specified. What is the best way to move this database function to a different machine? There are no constraints. I can take it all down, whatever. Copy the files from the database, or use the 'hot' copies? Any takers?
