Is it possible to use the binary for HP 10.20 (mysql-3.23.51-hp-hpux10.20-hppa1) on HP 11.x? I know there is a later one for HP 11 on sourceforge, but the one for HP 10.20 is listed as 'stable', which is what I need. In a more general sense, can I use the stable binaries on platforms that are later than those they were compiled for (sun, aix, windows)?
My concern is, that I want to distribute stable binaries to customers whose platforms I cannot control, and I'm not sure what the consequences are of installing the 'older' binaries.
