I have 2 questions:
1.How to enable log and update log with MySQL rpm installation?
In /etc/my.cnf? The default installation disable them, as shown
with "mysqladmin -u root -p variables"
2.In rpm installation, there is a mysqld under /etc/init.d. And
to start MySQL server at booting time, I set the links to it
in /etc/rc3.d and etc/rc5.d. This works fine. But I also saw
another script mysql.server under /usr/share/mysql/. Is this
mysql.server the same as the one in binary distribution? What
is the different of this one from mysqld under /etc/init.d?
I ask this because it seems both of them working as boot script
for System V boot procedure.
Thanks,
Shu
