OK, so I'm on a slightly older version for this experiment (3.23.36)..
I tried restarting mysqld with the line
set=lower_case_table_names=1
in my my.cnf (on RedHat 7.1), and have a table called "ipaddr" in my
database (the files are ipaddr.frm, ipaddr.MYD and ipaddr.MYI). (I have
verified
