5.0.2 on Windows is completely unusable for me too; crashes constantly
the Linux version seems to be fine, at least in my tests

when switch from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 (without any config /my.ini change)
it used 100% cpu for a single command "show tables" (i've 42 tables)
and running forever (ate more and more memory)
So get back to 5.0.1 and things are fine.
