Hi, I have searched the lists and have not found a solution to a problem , described in an ealier post, with which i am also suffering : "I'm trying to install MySQL on redhat 6.2. I've tried the beta version (http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql-3.23.html) and the stable version (http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql-3.22.html), but whether I install from binary, rpm, or source, the result is always the same: mysql_install_db displays... Creating db table Creating host table Creating user table Creating func table Creating tables_priv table Creating columns_priv table ...and then hangs (no error messages, it just stops producing output)."
