I just installed mysql binary in my Linux system. I tried ./bin/safe_mysqld &
also tried /etc/init.d/mysqld start the system always give me starting MySQL [OK] information. Then the mysqld ended running. /etc/init.d/mysqld status gives me information like "mysql dead but subsys locked " under /var/lib/mysql/, there is no mysql.socket file exist. All my procedures are followed the manual. Thank you for your time.
