Som additional info for my post #18 on lirc settings. lirc version is
0.8.6
$ ps -ef | grep lirc
root 1234 1 0 01:10 ?00:00:00 /usr/sbin/lircd

$ lsmod | grep ir
lirc_i2c7136 0
lirc_dev 10804 1 li
Same behaviour here with an Haupauge PVR-150 (ivtv)
Error message is the same as above "Fehler: Alle Eingänge sind belegt,
aber es gibt keine laufenden Aufnahmen?"
Also, the backend is not recording any scheduled recordings.
Adding a new schedule has no effect.
Viewing old recordings works.

I have the Hauppauge HVR-1600 card with the grey remote (A415-HPG-A) and
have also been trying to get it working, without any success so far. I

Here is the log file I had upon trying to install Mythbuntu 8.10 & 9.04.
I've tried it on an Intel PD 3.4GHz processor machine & on my AMD64 X2
2200 machine & same thing happens each time. It appears it can't find
