Mythbuntu 10.10 x64 upgraded from 10.04 and now when I playback
recordings I have no OSD when hitting pause/M/ fastforward etc...

Per a discussion in #mythbuntu-dev.
We should add support for configuring an Android or iPhone remote via a
Checkbox and QR code in MCC/ubiquity. This would turn on the telnet
service for mythfrontend and let the user install by scanning the QR
code on their computer.

Use the hardware drivers tool (in the administration menu). It will
only offer the drivers (current and legacy) that work.

In 10.04 lirc worked perfectly with my USB-UIRT using the driver uirt2.
After upgrading to 10.10 lirc no longer works. Every time I press a
button on my remote I get the following message in syslog:
lircd-0.8.7-pre3[1336]: uirt2: timeout reading byt
I removed the nVidia driver fir the open source one and mythfrontend
works fine apart from being abysmally slow. Are there previous versions
of the nVidia driver in repositories, if so, how do I install these
cleanly?

Perhaps we should have a lirc task to get rid of the imon offering directly
from the lirc package to avoid people ending up with this. As well as maybe
fixing people who are broken with a web update.

If lirc_imon doesn't create a /dev/lirc0 then your device is one of the
newer imon devices and should use the imon kernel driver. This will
automagically send keystrokes to the system so lirc isn't really needed.
If you still want lirc then you can set it up as a devinput device.

The iMON receiver in the Antec Fusions should now use the newer imon
kernel module, making this bug obsolete. It may be configured as a
devinput in lirc, but lirc is no longer needed as this new kernel driver
sends the keystrokes directly.
