Public bug reported:
Hi,
I can't get mythbuntu 10.10 to make it passed the splash when doing a
fresh install.
It just goes black and nothing else.
I am wondering if there is an issue with image at all?
Thanks.

David,
There are actually two different issues.
First was that the /etc/init.d/lirc file had both rc5sz and lirc enabled and
both were reporting the Streamzap remote keys.
However, even after this file is fixed to add rc5sz (this is the correct
spelling, rc5-sz and rc-5-sz are wrong) to the dis
It looks like somebody else has encountered this issue and was able to
get things working on their system again:

information there will help fix the bug.

I guess I'm confused.

Sorry, my last post probably wasn't terribly helpful. Here are some
more details (and I'll gladly provide more as needed):
Ubuntu: 10.10
Platform: AMD64
Linux kernel: 2.6.35-22-generic
Graphics card: AMD Radeon x1300
Graphics driver: xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu5
TV Tuner: SiliconDu
I can confirm here, and I'm using Radeon graphics with the default open
source drivers, so no workaround here.
Symptoms are the same -- when tuning any of several HD channels, my
entire login session is ended.
