Because Steven has added experimental analogue support, the card now
requires an extra firmware file to load.

I am using 10.04 Mythbuntu.
When I use Image Gallery to go into a folder with movie files,
mythfrontend closes with the following in mythfrontend.log

I've tested the file and it works brilliantly. For your info, the three files
that appear to be needed are:

I just had MythTV run low on space and start deleting undeleted
recordings. Annoyingly, it deleted a recording that had +2 priority and
left some with -3 when I have it set to AutoExpire "Lowest Priority First".
Looking into it more, the AutoExpire order isn't res
(Note that putting the extracted firmware in /lib/firmware/, rather than
/lib/firmware/`uname -r`/, seems to make it persist through kernel
updates, but I haven't managed to test this explicitly. I haven't had a
chance to test the .deb yet, sorry.)

Just confirming that I also have this problem and that this fix solved it. The
line for me is now:
start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE=lo and started udev-finish)
Mythtv-frontend now starts before the backend is ready, but this is fine
as the frontend automatically keeps retrying
(Clearly an error about not having write permissions to the folder would
be a lot nicer.)

Oh dear... strike that...
I rsynced a bunch of files over from my previous installation and it
seems that I managed to change the ownership of the files from the user.
Presumably the error was caused because the user that I was trying to
log in as couldn't write to its home directory.

On Lucid Final, fully updated, I cannot login to mythbuntu desktop or
XFCE. When I type in my login credentials, it blanks the screen as if it
is going into the desktop and then reloads the login screen. I can login
using the same username/password in a terminal (Alt+Ctrl+F1).
Here is my complete ~/mythbuntu/.lirc/mythtv file for others to use
until the diff is applied.

It seems that, after all of that, it was a hardware issue. I have
replaced the hard drive (a WD Green 1TB) with a spare one that I had and
