Binary package hint: lirc

In 10.04 lirc worked perfectly with my USB-UIRT using the driver uirt2.
After upgrading to 10.10 lirc no longer works. Every time I press a
button on my remote I get the following message in syslog:

lircd-0.8.7-pre3[1336]: uirt2: timeout reading byte X

irrecord doesn't work either. The buttons are no longer recognized
correctly.
