to resolve another issue relating to video playback performance.
During the upgrade, I deleted my channels, then rescanned for channels

Unfortunately, these crash type bugs are typically rejected unless there is a
core dump or threadtrace information. If a crash is reproducible, then logs
are sometimes enough... I would suggest starting mythtv-setup
