[mythtv] backend service shutdown

I've noticed twice over the past month that after recording a show at 11 PM for 1/2 an hour the backend service shuts itself down. I read through the logs and it looks like cron did a shutdown as if I had pre programmed one, even though I hadn't... a simple /sbin/service mythbackend start brings

[mythtv] weird interlacing flips at the top of the screen

Using the PVR-350 for about one month, no probs up till last night... I was watching a pre-recorded episode of Family Guy and the top four or five inches started to flicker with a white color with black boxes inside it... Don't know if this is the FB or if it is actually an interlacing issue...

I'm having trouble with the Avermedia 550 PCI card. I've installed the conexant 8800 drivers, but I'm only showing /dev/video0 when I /dev/video? I'm not showing anything else... I'm placing the lspci -vv data below, I have an nVidia AGP graphics card, and ASUS motherboard and a RealMagick Decode
