Well I gave XFS a try and I clawed back 4Gb on the video/recordings partition
- so better than nothing. Thanks for the ad

Which MythTV RPMs do you use for this? I'm a FC3 man myself and I use
ATRPMs. I presume we'll need to use a different set of RPMs for this -
is it Debian Myt

any reason you used an older version? I installed mine a week or so ago
and 0.3.6r was the latest, and I just checked and found that its up to
0.3.6w !
No particular reason. 0.3.3k works nicely. I will test 0.3.6w later on
but only if I unearth problems with 0.3.3k.

Looking through the archives I've found that it's possible top set up
MPEG2 to MPEG2 automatic transcoding by issuing the following update
command in mysql:
update recordingprofiles set videocodec = "MPEG-2" where name = "MPEG2";
I want to give this a go because I want to keep my recordings in MP
I'm sorry, I wanted to write to dev list...

Hi.
I'm using MythTV 0.18.1 with an Hauppauge WinTV Nova CI dvb-s card, and
I can watch digital sat channels.
How I can get the Program Guide to use the EPG data?
At the time I can't see EPG data anymore, in the Program Guide nor in
the "now watching" window.
I'm using the Hotbird satellites.

Any suspect entries in the logfile ?
No, I don't see anything in the logfile...
Goodbye
Mattia.

Recordings should be XFS per most recommendations. Although I have seen some
say ReiserFS. Neither will get you more room. XFS will speed up the delete
of an old recording, especially when they are large in size.
If you goto the ReiserFS site they claim to be the fastest file system.
Although, thi
