OK, here's the deal...
Using full DVD install of FC3, running GNOME, with WinFast TV2000
Deluxe FM card installed and working with xawtv, xdtv, and two other
players. Freevo installed and working.
Removed and reinstalled all mysql related files.
mysqlserver rpm complained that: "user mysql not f
Tried Michael's suggestion, but cannot enter sql command line.
Suspect I need to use sqladmin, with the service stopped. Can anyone
please help me with this. It has been three weeks since installing,
and I still cannot run mythtvsetup :-(
Errors as follows:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] craig]$ mythtvsetup
[EMAIL PROTECTED] craig]$ mythtvsetup
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of
the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based
authentication failed

sounds like a misconfiguration of mysql, but I need to know what
directories/files I need to manually remove so as to replace them with
clean rpm ones.
Any help greatly appreciated, as I cannot pass step 2 of the install
(out of a lot of steps).

I have Freevo installed and running (mainly because MythTV would not
co-operate with me). I have followed the FC3 howto to the letter, and
my SQL database:
a. Doesn't exist
b. Isn't accessible by user mythtv (or ROOT for that matter)
I have built a custom kernel (2.6.11.2) and was wonder
