I looked into this for my frontend. Do a search for Wake-on-LIRC. It
is a homebrew project that uses the Wake-on-lan feature on your mobo
to wakeup via an LIRC receiver.

Hi Sorry, let me clarify. I already have a PVR250. I want to upgrade
to an PCHDTV3000 or similar. I want to know how much disk space an
*HD* recording will consume, without any transcoding.
Thanks.

figures. Something in the range of 6-10GB/hr? is this right?
Thanks

Sorry I don't have a solution, but I have this exact same problem.
The backend process is still running, but the frontend can't watch
live tv, can't browse recordings, can't browse upcoming shows, etc.
At this point all I can do is to restart the backend. I was going to
upgrade to 0.18 to see if
How can I default the watch recordings menu to show my recording
groups on the side? I can change the view with the 'M' key but it
always goes back to showing the show titles on the side. I looked in
the setup menus but don't see any options. Any suggestion
appreciated.
