Because screensavers exhibit patterns. They are loops.
It varies per screensaver, but there are ones that are

anything that bounces on the edges are statistically
more likely to wear the middle and seldom venture into

for the info on the fash devices...
I was talking to a xbox modder friend of mine, and he
suggested to flash the tsop, because this will be a
dedicated linux box. If you go that route then no mod
chip is needed (i am told) He's going to do it fo
but that assumes that it doesn't blank the snow with a

since, we are uber techies here, some, if not all of
us like our high perf displays. (I don't have one yet,
but i'm starting to look into it) one of the things
that I found is that plasmas are more reliable than i
thought. they have a 1/2 bright life of 60,000hrs, vs
15,000 for crts. but they do ha

How does one eject the DVD after ripping it? I have to
switch consoles and type eject to get the disk out,
else, I guess the automounter mounts it and won't auto

Any ideas?

I'd like to be able to insert a show to be recorded
remotely, either via web interface, or via some email
facility so my phone (text msg) can be used to add
stuff to record when I am away.
i.e.: | what it means
simpsons 1800 | show time HHMM (search for show)
45 1800 1830| channel
I can't get my plextors to work, and I don't know what
to do. I am using mythtv r5a16.
Issues: hot plug does not work right. I have to unplug
and replug the units in to get the /dev/video devices

/dev/vbi* are there, but i get 'no such device' errors

I got myth tv to 'work' (DVD ripping does dot work, it
fails on my Matrix Reloaded DVD) but my Plextor
encoders are acting all weird.
The video goes off the screen at 1024x768, so I only
get 1/4 of the picture (this I can chalk up to not
really an encoder issue) but the video I get is
