My system seems to be a heck of a lot peppier since I neutered acpi with acpi=ht pci=noacpi as kernel boot options.  I thought that I was supposed to have kacpid using 80% of my CPU... Now my HDTV playback has regular pauses instead of continuous hiccups... woohoo. -Jean ___
