completely wiped out the 8174 drivers and installed a clean 7676 set
and I get the exact same results. Mind if I ask what you're using for
video out so I can make a better decision next time around?

Total strangeness. Apparently the problem is with the nvidia driver I'm
using. or so it seems. I just turned off the tv out and plugged in a
regular monitor for the first time since I finished building XFree86.
Surprisingly theres a huge difference. I'm not quite sure why. I'm
using an Albatron FX5
Nope, straight from /dev/video0 they seem fine. and it's ivtv 0.4.1.
I'm really lost as to whats causing this. I thought I'd checked/tried
everything in myth. :/

Sure thing,
Cable line comes into the back of the pvr 500. Speakers plug into
the speaker out of the motherboard. Not a whole lot to it.
