I cant for the likes of me get my mythtv box to
automatically transcode stuff recorded from my DVB card.. (Dvico Fusion DVB-T
Lite).
I'm sure there's a box I should be ticking
somewhere - which recording profile should I tick "automatically transcode" in -

The msn grabber gets MUCH more data than the d1 does.
When I tried d1, it didnt give episode information for example, so if you
record a tv servies then myth doesnt know enough about the episode to tell
if it has recorded that particular episode

antenna, one inputting from a satelliteI pull in (via antenna) locals
in Buffalo, NY

I have a problem with my mythtv box.
I have my nvidia card setup for acceleration - the Xorg log shows no errors.
When I turn on playback acceleration in mythtv (XvMC?), and then try to play
something I get an error stating tha video playback could not be started.

After playing around with mplayer's ivtv/ivtvosd
output and not been very impressed by the output, I had a thought that you could
use mencoder to re-encode the video to mpeg 2 and then just pipe it out to the
ivtv video decoder device.
mencoder divx-movie.avi -of mpeg -o
