You should also have this in your modprobe.conf file using a PVR-350
options ivtv tuner=39
If that doesn't work, send the ivtv output in /var/log/messages and your
modprobe.conf contents.

What's your tuner hw? One thing that I noticed after an upgrade is the
need to put in the "option ivtv tuner=xx" in the modprobe.conf file
where before it appears to default correctly. (using pvr-250)

Try "netstat -l |grep sql"
