There were links from v4l-cx2341x-dec.fw --> ivtv-fw-dec.bin and

Thanks Jason. I copied the following three files from /lib/modules to
/lib/firmware and rebooted. That took care of the problem.

There were a decent amount of new packages, so I decided to update
with apt-get update and then apt-get dist-upgrade on FC3.

The results were not encouraging! Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm that guy. I had the same issue after doing a dist-upgrade and
jarod instructed me to upgrade my lirc-kmdl. I did tha

I got mplayer through Atrpms and I built my machine using Jarod's
guide. Is there an mplayer on Atrpms that has lirc support built-in?

I have a PVR350 and I just upgraded to ivtv 0.40 to reap the benefits
of xv playback. I attempted to play back an xvid video through
mythvideo using mplayer and it worked, but my remote does not respond

I'm running Fedora Core 3, kernel version 2.6.12-1.1381_FC3.
I did an apt-get update, followed by an apt-get dist-upgrade. All went
well, except now my remote is not working. I searched the lists and
google, and couldnt find anything that worked to fix it. I tried

I'm running FC3. I was wondering if there was a flag that is known to
apt for critical updates. For example if a vulnerability was found in
ssh and an upgrade to a new version was necessary. That way I could
run apt-get to upgrade only what is deemed "critical," although I'm
not sure who would be d

I have searched the mailing lists, but have been unable to come upon a
definitive answer for the problem I am experiencing. I am now running
.17 on FC2 with a PVR-350. After the upgrade (which went flawlessly
through apt-get) I rebooted the machine, figuring it was easier to

In my myth box I am running FC2 and have a separate drive for all
filesystems except for my videos/recordings. The drive is 10GB and is
84% full. I know that a bunch of rpm's are sitting there and taking up
space. How can I safely delete package files?

Dan,
I had been grappling with the same exact problem, even as of this
afternoon when I read your message. However, I have found a solution
that worked for me. I have a PVR350 with X enabled and am running KDE
window manager. I followed the instructions below (taken from
