Hi, I've been having problems recently with fast-forward and rewind. When I try to skip around, everything freezes for a second, then it changes. However, the change is always very slight (like 1-2 seconds) and there is a lot of artifacting before things settle back to normal a second or two later. Effectively, I can't skip around in recordings anymore.
I searched the archives for answers, and found a few people with the same problems, but I couldn't find any answers that worked. Here's the output from the log: 2006-01-20 22:00:46.675 New DB connection, total: 1 Total desktop width=800, height=600, numscreens=1 2006-01-20 22:00:46.922 Using screen 0, 800x600 at 0,0 2006-01-20 22:00:46.928 mythfrontend version: 0.18.1.20050523-1 www.mythtv.org 2006-01-20 22:00:46.928 Enabled verbose msgs : important general 2006-01-20 22:00:47.359 Switching to square mode (Titivillus) mythtv: could not connect to socket mythtv: No such file or directory lirc_init failed for mythtv, see preceding messages 2006-01-20 22:00:47.434 Joystick disabled. 2006-01-20 22:00:47.541 Registering Internal as a media playback plugin. 2006-01-20 22:00:47.560 Registering MythDVD DVD Media Handler as a media handler 2006-01-20 22:00:47.562 Registering MythDVD VCD Media Handler as a media handler 2006-01-20 22:00:47.745 Registering MythMusic Media Handler as a media handler 2006-01-20 22:00:47.807 New DB connection, total: 2 SIP listening on IP Address ###.###.###.###:5060 NAT address ###.###.###.### SIP: Cannot register; proxy, username or password not set 2006-01-20 22:00:50.322 All Programs 2006-01-20 22:00:50.570 Connecting to backend server: ###.###.###.###:6543 (try 1 of 5) 2006-01-20 22:00:50.576 Using protocol version 15 seek: Invalid argument Invalid seektable (frametype -27) 2006-01-20 22:01:00.150 Disable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:01.137 Opening audio device '/dev/dsp'. 2006-01-20 22:01:01.137 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'. 2006-01-20 22:01:01.162 Using XV port 240 2006-01-20 22:01:01.623 Changing from None to WatchingPreRecorded 2006-01-20 22:01:01.622 New DB connection, total: 3 2006-01-20 22:01:01.624 The realtime priority setting is not enabled. 2006-01-20 22:01:02.035 Video timing method: USleep with busy wait [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:01:23.865 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:28.659 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:01:32.954 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:38.573 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:01:40.818 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:45.409 Disable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:45.511 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:46.327 Disable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:46.531 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:47.347 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:01:49.604 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:01:52.154 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:01:58.591 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:03:33.151 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:03:36.429 Enable DPMS 2006-01-20 22:03:41.646 Disable DPMS [mpeg4 @ 0x32a5b4]warning: first frame is no keyframe 2006-01-20 22:03:50.110 Changing from WatchingPreRecorded to None 2006-01-20 22:03:50.144 Changing from None to None 2006-01-20 22:03:50.761 Enable DPMS I read that the "first frame is no keyframe" may have something to do with the recordedmarkup table, so I ran the following query: REPAIR TABLE recordedmarkup; It ran for a few seconds then showed a message saying everything was OK. Also, I get the same problem when watching shows as they record (ie. before they are transcoded to mpeg4) My setup (as best I can remember): -- Frontend -- mythtv-suite 0.18.1 (followed Jarod's guide) Fedora Core 4 GeForce FX 5200 AMD Sempron 2600+ (socket 754) 512MB RAM mATX nForce3-150 mobo (I think) -- Backend -- mythtv-suite 0.18.1 Fedora Core 4 PVR-250 GeForce4 Ti4200 AMD Athlon 1600+ Epox 8KHA+ mobo (VIA KT266A or something like that) 512MB RAM I'm not sure about ivtv versions and such, but if it would help, I can look into it. Any help with this would be appreciated! Micah _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
