I have the same issues. I'm not sure how to troublesolve them either
and I posted it to the list as well with no responce. I too am
running CVS from a few days ago.
There's a thread on the mythtv-dev list on this. They're working on it.
There's at least one patch.
I don't think it's been commit
I need a brilliant idea.

ls -l /dev/dvb

Looks like initially still a permissions issue. My guess would be that
since the adapter directories are owned by the root group, if you
chown -R root:video /dev/dvb it would solve your issue.

Now let's see if I can get the rest to work!
Well, I couldn't. I start mythtvsetup, clear capture cards and clear
channels.
Capture Cards. I select Digital Video Broadcast card (DVB).
For DVB Card Number 0 I get:
Could not get card info for card #0!
For all other numbers I get Could not open car
All worked well until the very end - installing the v4l drivers:
.

+ /sbin/depmod -aq
+ /sbin/modprobe cx88-dvb
FATAL: Error inserting cx88_dvb

I find this list - busy as it is - difficult to keep up with. Would it be
possible for the powers-that-be to put this list on gmane? Or is it already
on some gmane-like newsgroup?

Muddling my way through setting up mythtv on fc3.
mythfrontend -> watch tv just gives a blackscreen. Even shortcut keys
from keys.txt have no effect. top shows lots of cpu cycles.
I'd appeciate any suggestions on troubleshooting.
But the console and the log don't show a problem:

the database.
I filled in:
Host 127.0.0.1
Database mythconverg
User mythtv
Password mythtv
and Database Type was set as MySQL.
I think these are correct:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]$ mysql -umythtv -pmythtv mythconverg

I've used atrpms to install. mysql.txt appears twice:
locate mysql.txt
/.mythtv/mysql.txt
/home/mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt
.mythtv under the root directory look fishy. Is this where it should be?
Also the root file has:
cat mysql.txt
DBHostName=localhost
DBUserName=mythtv
DBPassword=mythtv
DBName=m
This may not be what you are looking for but if you buy an xbox and its
component adaptor you will get a hdtv frontend for about $200-$250
depending
on modchip.
I see that xbox has a component adapter. But how does the rest of this work?
I have another machine that has the hd3000, and then what..
I've got an hd3000 which I want to use to drive a 47" panasonic rptv. The
rptv can do 1080i, but only has component input.
I'm getting an athlon-xp 3000, 512mb, and an FX5200 ( which I gather is the
card of choice around here, right?).
I'll need a vga -> component converter. Looking at Audio Au
I just got my pcHDTV 3000. I'm posting here because the pcHDTV web site is
down.
My first objective is to use the card as a receiver for over-the-air hdtv
broadcasts and play it on a panasonic 47" hdtv.
My first question is what do I need to get component video - which is what
the tv needs for
