The backend segfaults when it is doing a job. The log shows nothing suspcious, for example:

Mythfrontend does something similar, when switching between video modes, it segmentation faults as well. If I go from livetv to a recording, it segfaults. The backend is a brand new Dell PowerEdge SC420 w/2.8 GHz P4 and 512MB DDR2. The frontend is a homebrew machine with an Athlon XP 1700+, 512MB DDR, and FX5200. I am using Arch linux, therfore the newest software for just about everything. I can't compile myth 0.16, it doesn't seem to play nice with the current gcc, but CVS completes the compile. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
