How do you disable the KDE sound system?

there is a checkbox on teh sound system tab thingy. enable sound system.
or you could kill arts.

also, if you are using KDE and ALSA, disable the KDE sound system,
since it locks the sound card for itself.
try using aplay
Ivtv has no sound. Everything else seems to be fine.
I have played with the alsamixer settings
