Hello! After some kind help from people on the list, I managed to setup a Raid-5 ReiserFS system for my /video directory. Although I had yet to put in a 3rd drive (running in degraded mode for about 1 day just to test it out) I had some strange problems.
Whenever two programs began at the same time, one of the programs would record fine, and the other would not. MythWEB showed it as a file size "B" and my backend log filled up with some kind of "catching error" (sorry, it almost filled my root drive so I had to delete the logs!) I have a feeling that it had something to do with drive speed, but I don't know much about anything. It was a software Raid so I suspect that there is some kind of buffer/speed setting that I may have to tweak. Does anyone have any ideas? I am running FC4, 2 SATA 250G WD Drives, Software Raid. (I believe both drives are on a SATA expansion board because my motherboard slots were already full.) Thanks!
