I would like to give the Zalman a shot on my Athlon system (Biostar M7NCG 400 MoBo), but it won't fit because my CPU is too close to the power supply. Can anyone recommend a quiet HSF that is slimmer than the Zalman HSF and might have a hope of fitting on my MoBo??On 4/22/05, Phill Edwards [EMAIL

Totally agree - have a Zalman AlCu 7000A on my P4 2.4C and it works like a charm. The fan-mate controller gives you a good degree of control over the fan speed too, so will try it out in my Pundit-R to help control the noise issue. That's interesting - when I plugged my Fanmate into the

I am quite happy with my Artic Cooling kit. It is quieter than my HD. But also the lower power consumption of my mobile Athlon helps. Avoiding heat is always better that to fight getting rid of the heat. On 4/21/05, Nick [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On 4/20/05, Phill Edwards [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I'm using a Spire Whisperrock IV (http://www.spirecoolers.com/fcc.asp?prodid=105). It's cheap and quiet enough for my (probably not-too-discerning) ears. Since I wasn't going to make a diskless front end, there was going to be HD noise to begin with. Some quiet CPU and case fans don't seem so
