Same problem for me. I've got a P4 2.6 (Northwood) running at 2.8 and 1080i skips frames every few seconds in MythTV, but plays fine in VLC. Switching MythTV to libmpeg2 makes a very marginal difference. I'm hoping the P4 3.06 w/Hyperthreading that I have on order will be able to add that extra bit
