Thanks in advance.

I have enabled the service check/notification. It is a full fledged monitoring server except for these three links not working. Please let me know Cheers, Hugo van der Kooij <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On Wed, 5 Apr 2006, satish kumar wrote:> I am not able to see the hosts/services when we

If your question is:
Can a hostgroup be a member of another hostgroup?
The answer is:
no.
But you are free to make a host member of multiple host groups.

Hello,
I think I am confusing myself here as I migrate to 2.0. It is
pointless to have a ping service for a host that has a host
check_command specified (assuming its check-host-alive), correct?
Nagios will, in my case, ping the host if a service check fails
anyways, right?
Thanks,

I would like to configure some services to send initial notifications 24x7, and subsequent notifications only during busines hours. For example, if a host goes down at 3:00pm, and comes back up at 8:00pm, emails would go out at 3:00 (initial down), 3:30 (still down), 4:00 (still down), 4:30 (still
Hi Deborah,
you just need to execute Plugins with performance data in their output.
AFAIK most of the Plugins out of the actual package (version 1.4.2 I
think) are dealing with perfdata.

However,
In this case, that won't help. that just tells Nagios whether or not to
process perf data it receives from the plugins.
Not all plugins provide performance data, and it sounds like that's the
case here.

I am not sure how you disabled notifications but there is the
ENABLE_NOTIFICATIONS external command. Likewise, there is a
DISABLE_NOTIFICATIONS external command as well:

You can very easily write a CGI to execute the external c

Hi,
I'm using Nagios 2.0 on Suse 9.3 which runs without any issues.

I finally got notifications to happen. I have noticed that in the web

services. I had to manually enable the notifications for each server

At least can I get some more information on how to debug this better?
The crashes seem to be almost random. Sometimes it will run for a

Would it be incompatibility of glibc versions, perl, and the nagios
version?
My problem regards only to nagios 2.1, differently of your recurrent

not to skirt the real issue, but I've always found that you want
to use the right tool for the job. Nagios is a great tool but it's
primarily a threshold alerter, and not a grapher. Use MRTG/Cricket to
track disk usage, they work better at it.
...then again it's just an opinion..
Hello.
I was working on making nagiosgraph/rrdtool work with my Nagios 2.0
installation when I came upon this issue.
I have the following in nagios.cfg:
process_performance_data=1
service_perfdata_file=/var/spool/nagios/perfdata.log
service_perfdata_file_template=[SERVICEPERFDATA]\t$TIME$\t$HOS

Hi all,
I have been using Nagios for a few months now, and love it. I've
recently started to graph the disk usage, but have run into a problem
with my check_disk perfdata being truncated.
A quick search through the archives yields some posts which mention
MAX_PLUGINOUTPUT_LENGTH being limit
There are many posts about this issue in the archives.

Hi all,
the suport for regex in Nagios is really
a great feature - thanks a lot for implementing it. I am wondering, which
multiplyers are supported when refering to hostnames using regular expressions.
F.e. [sw].*\.company\.net will match
