I just upgraded our monitoring system from Nagios 1.2 to 2.4. After doing this, I've noticed that hosts are now showing as Unreachable rather than Down when they are not pingable. For each of these hosts, I see UNREACHABLE for the Host Status and "(No output!)" for Status Information. I am ass

All these things are good also i suggest: measuring TX packets on one end and RX packets on the other end of a link is a good indication of the quality of the link. Using NTP + nanosleep to get hyperaccuate readings helps spot small problems quickly. Even using asyncronous readings will spot a
