You can use the MIBII process table with snmp using check_snmp_process.pl :

How can I use Nagios to monitor a windows program that does not run as a
service. I can use snmp plugin to check on services but if it's a
program that starts from an executable, how can I tell if its running or
not

yes all plugins have 755 permissions.
The plugins have the same permissions (owned by the root and 755) as
the working one's.

I install Open Manage onto our Dell kit and use the check_om_storage and
check_om_chassis checks from Nagios Exchange to get the raid and chassis
info using nrpe - This has worked fine for 'years'
The new Dells we have use Perc5 RAID controllers and i see that the
check_om_storage check no-
