Hi. I have a list
of URLs I need to monitor.
How can I easily
monitor a big list of URLs in nagios ?
I can't find a
good solution for this unless I add a host for each domain and then specify the
rest of the path in the parameter, but that's too much. It has to be something
easier there.
sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using
a redhat enterprise 4 system.

Does anyone know what
selinux contexts I need to get rid of the following ping related problem:

Does anyone know if you can use templates for this configuration file
(schedule.cfg)? If not, how hard would it be to add?

Is there any utility to convert status data and retention data from 1.x format

Or do you choose to lose the data when upgrade?

So, for a noob, whats the easiest way to make sure a host alert is

Perhaps it should be a service alert - but either way, you get my
meaning. I don't want to wait 15 minutes to find out a router went
down. Not EXACTLY sure how to fix it

Thanks for your reply, Gerhard,
Good article.
Yours was one of the first approaches I took, but I found that the
two sets of CGIs both returned the same results, regardless of
the config files. This leads me to belive that the CGIs might interface
with the running nagios process.

Hi Moshe Sharon
Thank you for your reply.
I initially considered the "Operators Contacts" approach but decided
against it because I don't want the operators to have the ability
to alter/disable Nagios on all the hosts they can view.
Is there a way around this?

Hi,
Every time I restart my nagios process while a host is in a scheduled
downtime state, the downtime is lost when the process restarts. The cgi
says "Scheduled downtimes are preserved across program shutdowns and
restarts.", but I cannot seem to see how to make this true.
I've also tried echo'
Hi,
If you can use snmp, try http://www.manubulon.com/nagios/snmp_process.html

Hi all,
I'm managing a small Nagios environment which contains about 30
hosts. The host detail page in the interface shows me that the last
check time of these hosts is about 234 days ago. Why is it such a
long time ago this host was checked?
I recently (some days ago) added some new hosts,

Hello
from what i understand from your letters there are two ways to do it.
1) install nagios i different directories and set the appropriate
permissions in the httpd.conf for each nagios. note that this is
actually running nagios on the same machine i also advice to set
different users for each i
