of checks until hard state) but no other times. So, if you want
something to be continually called then you might need to do it

I can't get NSCA to work, so I'm thinking about an alternative for my
failover setup.
I thought about having nagios running on the master host, and not
running on the backup host. I'd rsync the retention.dat file once every
