You can use the "eventlog handler" for windows. It comes with Windows 2003
Server and can enable the server to send the events via syslog... You can
also configure the server to send snmptraps on specified event messages...
Have a look at evntcmd.exe, evntwin.exe and eventtriggers.exe

Hey folks,
I'm in the process of designing a system to integrate our
existing systems database and Nagios. It will query our database,
stuff the results into an interim database, that I will use to
build a Nagios config.
However, I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to handle users

Look at your notify commands. (default notify-host-by-email and

Hi guys and girls, can anyone let me know how I add a subject, and display
the sent to (to:) line to the emails that leave the Nagios server.
I am running Nagios 3.0b5 on a OpenSuSe server, with Sendmail 8.13.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Has anyone ever run into this problem before when trying to install the
NSClient as a service?
At the command prompt I run:
C:\> nsclient++ /install
and the program reports "Too big to fit in memory" and finishes out. The
service isn't installed - just closes out.

Could this be an SELinux issue? (modify below to point to the correct
paths):
You can test if this is the case before executing the chcon commands by
running:
$ sudo echo 0 > /selinux/enforce
Then let schedule another nrpe check, if it succeeds, then run the chcon
commands.
$ sudo echo 1 > /sel
I hope you resolved the issue without permanently disabling SELinux.
On my 2.10 install I've had to do the following to get Nagios web
interface working with SELinux (note that I compiled and installed, so
your file locations are probably different because of RPM install):
# chcon -R -t httpd_sys
Hi to all,
I solved... the problem was selinux
I hate selinux..

Hi!
I'm looking for a standard open source solution for tracking issues
that come from different sources and that integrates well with Nagios.
I want to be able to track from Windows Event Log events to Uptime
statistics and I want to attach tasks to this issues in order to solve
them. I have red i

I have a problem monitoring a big number of Cisco and non unix hosts. (
about 5000)
I use nagios 3.0a5.
i do nothing but "host checks" to these hosts.( no service checks), as all I
need is availability.
I initially used check_ping for all and the hosts were polled in about 7-8
minutes.

I'm still getting alerts on 12, which should be ex
